Mombasa-based
Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) has ordered 2 hybrid E-One 2 rubber-tyred
gantry cranes (RTGs) from Kalmar, it was announced this week. Set for delivery during 2014 the order is valued around EUR 17M (USD 23.4M).
The 45t capacity RTGs have a one over five configuration and can stack up to six-plus-one containers wide. They will be fitted with the company’s latest automatic gantry steering system, its automatic stacking inventory, remote monitoring and diagnostics applications.
