Just a quick one.

We bank with An Post. Given that, we applied for a personal loan (€8000) at approx 8.69 % APR with a total cost of credit being €1104.80. I appreciate things may not be exactly the same as advertised but what is being offered to us post application is very different.

I just got an email congratulating me for loan approval for €8000 @ 15.90% (17.10% APR) Total cost of credit coming in around €2,110.96 .

Is this the done thing with personal loans? Advertise one price and reveal the real price post application?

We’ve reviewed finance options from the dealer and whilst they are ok, they inflexibility of extra payments is of a concern.

Getting a loan from another provider is possible, its just a lot more paperwork and time.

Am I right in thinking An Post’s rate could be miles off or am I missing something?

Its my partners bank accounts and shes unreal with money so I doubt its anything to do with credit rating.

I think you need to be careful when choosing a lender. It depends on what you prefer the most. I use 5kfunds com reviews, and it's pretty easy for me to take it for 2 months and slowly give it back. Maybe you can try too! It will take you about 10 minutes to get some money and it is very easy to use. Well, I've got to go, good luck to you!
