IOT Group Australia commissioned the 10t cranes at its new facility primarily for the assembly, disassembly, and maintenance of downhole tubes, tubular and casing running equipment, and completions of sub-assembly services for the oil and gas industry.
Konecranes was involved throughout the full process, including design and product selection through to installation and commissioning, said Neil Killoh, district manager for Australia and
New Zealand at IOT.
“From early 2015, Konecranes was actively involved with the product selection, feasibility and effectiveness of our overhead crane requirements for our new build facility,” said Killoh.
“Regular meetings assisted with the technical and commercial aspects of the project, of which Konecranes, and especially Andy Garbett, West District Sales Manager, provided a high level of customer service, knowledge and experience.”
The CXT cranes are ideal for IOT Group, said Garbett: “IOT is an international service organisation within the oil and gas industry, with worldwide locations in the most important oil and gas logistics hubs. Crane availability in their workshop is critical to ensure they are able to meet the quick turnaround times that the oil and gas industry demands.
“We also won the maintenance contract for all the cranes, which further demonstrates the trust IOT Group place on Konecranes, as the world’s largest crane service organisation, to provide service and maintenance to world class standards.
“Our cranes will help Mr Killoh work to his company’s strong ethos of service and efficiency and it is satisfying to hear such positive feedback on this project, which showcases the level of customer service we strive to offer to all our customers,”
Konecranes’ CXT range of cranes feature individual
hoist capacities of up to 80t, with complementary CXT wire rope hoists, and are designed to offer high levels of safety, ergonomics, and easy and effective load handling.
