Swiss bridge crane and gantry crane export scale
In 2021, Swiss exports of transport and overhead cranes surged to X units, a year-on-year increase of X%. Overall, however, there has been a marked decline in exports. The fastest growth rate in 2017, with a year-on-year increase of X%. During the period under review, exports reached a maximum of X units in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, exports remained at a low level.
Exports of transport cranes and overhead cranes in 2021 are worth X dollars in value. However, exports continued to show modest growth during the reporting period. The most notable growth rate occurred in 2017, with an X% increase compared to the previous year. As a result, exports peaked at X dollars. From 2018 to 2021, the growth rate of exports will remain at a low level.
Serbia (X units), Germany (X units) and Italy (X units) were the main destinations for Swiss haulage and overhead crane exports, together accounting for X% of total exports. In addition, Serbia exports twice as many transport cranes and overhead cranes as Germany, the second largest exporter.
From 2012 to 2021, the largest increase was in Germany (+X%), while the other leaders saw more modest growth in shipments.

In 2021, Swiss imports of transport cranes, gantry cranes and overhead cranes decreased to X units, a -X% decrease compared to 2020 figures. During the period under review, imports declined slightly. The most significant growth rate occurred in 2018, when imports increased by X% over the previous year. As a result, imports peaked at X units. Import growth will remain low in 2019-2021.
Imports of transport cranes and overhead cranes soar to $X by value in 2021. Overall, imports fell significantly. During the period under review, imports peaked at $X in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, import volumes have remained low.
In 2021, Germany (X units) was the largest supplier of transport and overhead cranes in Switzerland, accounting for X% of total imports. In addition, transport cranes and overhead cranes imported from Germany were three times higher than the figures recorded by the second largest supplier, France (X units).
