Three 16-wheel rubber tyred gantry (
RTG) cranes, purchased in January by port operator Luka Koper for the Slovenian Port of Koper, have been delivered.

The three Konecranes RTG cranes are the first 16-wheel models in operation at the port.
Equipped with Konecranes’ advanced Active Load Control system to improve container-handling performance, they have a lifting capacity of 40t and can lift one over five containers high and seven plus truck lane wide.
In addition, the RTGs are equipped with Konecranes remote monitoring and support technology along with predictive maintenance equipment. They also feature Konecranes Fuel Saver technology to reduce fuel consumption and emissions, and DGPS-assisted technology with an Autosteering feature, which keeps the crane on a pre-programmed straight driving path.
Konecranes sales manager for port cranes, Antti Halonen, said: “Luka Koper is satisfied with our delivery performance, and we are pleased to support their continuing growth.
“Our business relationship goes back some 10 years, covering grab unloaders, RTGs, STS cranes and reach stackers. This RTG delivery expands Koper’s fleet of Konecranes RTGs to thirteen.”
