US lifting and rigging business Mazzella Companies has announced the acquisition of Newell Davis Company of Wilmington, North Carolina.

Mazzella says this acquisition further strengthens its footprint in the Atlantic region of the US and along the eastern seaboard, and reinforces a commitment to be a one-stop provider for rigging equipment and sling assemblies, engineered lifting solutions, training, and the inspection and repair of cranes, hoists and rigging.

Newell Davis Company has been servicing and supplying the construction, government/military and the ports industries in the Carolinas since 1976. On its website it describes itself as “a full line rigging shop” that sells a range of products including wire rope, nylon slings and hoists.

It will now fall under the Mazzella brand, although there will be no changes to staff, company locations, products or services.

Mazzella Companies product and service offerings include, for example rigging products, overhead crane fabrication, crane and hoist service and repair, and engineered lifting devices. Some of the markets Mazzella serves are mining, steel, oil and gas, construction, energy and shipbuilding.
