Abu Dhabi-based Control Industrial Contracting Co has invested in a raft of ESAB Warrior 500i multi-purpose welding machines.
CIC fabricates and assembles cranes, including ship-to-shore and
gantry cranes used to handle containers. The firm is also planning to extend its services into the fabrication of products such as oil and gas modules, fixed platforms, top side decks and jackets.
The decision to invest was also based on Warrior’s multi-process capability covering Flux Cored Arc Welding (FCAW), which is employed extensively by CIC, Manual Metal Arc (MMA), Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG), Metal Inert Gas (MIG), and arc gouging.
According to the company, the technology has transformed the company’s welding operation with high quality bead appearance, less weld defects and no loss of welding consumables during arc starts and stops. They deliver superior arc welding performance, including a stable arc and fast response to changes at the arc.
